Glitter-Arty: Is it Face Painting or an Art Form?

Glitter-Arty were delighted to be asked to collaborate with the cutting-edge art platform Trendy Art Ideas to promote emerging artists and share their talent and creative talents! They want to know.' Can face painting ever be considered art?'

Face painting has quietly undergone a revolution. Once primarily seen at children’s parties, Glitter-Arty is part of a movement that has transformed face painting into an art form. Today, no party, event, wedding, or festival feels complete without a dazzling glitter bar and professional face artistry.

With a background in fashion design from Central St Martins and experience working with well-known designers like Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood, I’ve had the chance to explore various artistic expressions. This journey has fostered a curiosity about shape, form, colour, and texture, as well as a keen awareness of evolving social and cultural references.

The relationship between fashion and art is an interesting one, often seen as both frivolous and lofty. I view them as interconnected disciplines that influence each other and contribute to my creative output.

As society searches for identity, the fluidity of our aesthetic allows for adaptation to the individuality of each sitter. This process does not require justification; it simply responds to a blend of past influences, revealed in the moment.

Our designs consider the subject's expectations and unique traits, fostering a genuine connection that resonates with light, colour, texture, and emotion.

The surrounding environment also plays a vital role in the creative process. My instinctual response to visual stimuli ensures that each artwork feels fresh and vibrant. This newness emerges naturally, with each individual inspiring a unique creation, making the experience dynamic and enjoyable.

Drawing from our personal experiences helps us maintain control over our aesthetic, allowing us to evolve trends that reflect our perspective. This freedom keeps our work lively and exciting, positioning Glitter-Arty at the forefront of the glitter face painting movement.

With the rising demand for eco-friendly products, glitter can now be viewed in a more positive light. Our handmade glitter gel is fully approved for use, ensuring we can apply it with minimal environmental impact. Rich with high-quality pigments our precise application allows for stunning detail without waste.

Can there really be too much eco glitter? Its presence brings excitement, and many are surprised to learn that our designs can be created in just 3-4 minutes. This quick transformation creates a lively atmosphere, energising everyone in the room.

As we navigate a world that encourages self-expression, glitter face painting serves as a wonderfully inclusive form of entertainment. We hope to inspire a movement that brings art to a wider audience, connecting our canvas with people’s happiest moments—an experience we cherish.
